SPAR Environmental Sustainability Campaign
Paper carrier bag launch and campaign
The Eastern Cape province in South Africa required a campaign to encourage shoppers to stop buying plastic carrier bags and switch to paper instead. This would essentially be phase 2 of their initiative and it therefore required a refreshed look and feel.
The look and feel is based off of origami paper animals. Sea animals were used because the Eastern Cape is a coastal province and most of their waste would end up in the ocean. The origami animals are shown eating the plastic carrier bag. This is symbolic of paper eradicating plastic but is also a reference to how plastic packets are effecting the environment. The green is symbolic of green friendly and easily associated with nature.
